We have learned that the Region One Act play will be hosted in the Mabry Arts Center tomorrow morning. Due to the proximity of the MAC and the stadium, the football program has decided to not use the PA system and the band program has decided to not perform music in the stadium.

Our administration is adamant about getting our Trojan Band out there to cheer on our Trojans very soon. We all apologize for the inconvenience and hope that informing you the day before will allow for you to make plans with your family tomorrow. Our band will NOT perform at the game tomorrow.

Fall Concert

Wow! What a tremendous opening concert for the school year! Our 7th and 8th graders performed a beautiful concert on Tuesday at the Mabry Arts Center. Thank you to all of those in attendance and I cannot wait for our Winter concert on December 14th!

Cookie Dough Fundraiser

Our cookie dough fundraiser concludes on the 3rd. Let’s finish this strong and continue selling throughout this weekend.

• Student earns a free candy bar of their choice for selling their first 5 boxes!
• For every 15 boxes/tubs that they sell they get one free tub of chunky chocolate chip
• 8th graders will earn $3 off of their Carowinds trip for every box sold
• Due date: November 3rd.
• Delivery: Online orders are delivered in a week while brochure orders will be delivered after Thanksgiving.
• Checks written out to CJHS Band

UWG Trip Meeting

I am looking to plan a special night on December 12th for our students. Students have been informed of the University of West Georgia Wind Ensemble concert that evening and we have decided to plan a field trip to go and watch them! I am looking to meet with some parent volunteers on Monday the 1st, at 4:00 PM in the CJHS band room to plan this field trip. If there are any parent volunteers that would like to meet and help me plan the trip I would appreciate that! Please let me know ahead of time if you are availible.

The students have been working so hard to prepare this concert for you all! We will have our first concert of the year next Tuesday at the Mabry Arts Center at 7 PM. All students are required to wear concert black. This concert is free and will conclude in less than an hour. All students are required to remain for the duration of the concert. The report time is 6:30 PM.

Trojan Pep Band Game on Saturday

I was just informed today that we have been invited to play at the game on Saturday for our 8th football team! Our 8th-grade football team has made the playoffs and we would like to support them. I will post the itinerary once the game time has been set. All 7th and 8th grade students are welcome to participate on Saturday in our pep band even if they have not participated yet this year. I will post a schedule as well as ask for volunteers later in the week. We are excited for another opportunity to support our CJHS Trojans!

I am so thankful for our Fall Break and for the opportunity to recharge! We have a very busy week this week so please pay close attention to the following announcements.

Week at a glance:

Monday: 7th Grade after school rehearsal at CJHS Band room until 5:00 PM

Tuesday: 8th Grade after school rehearsal at CJHS Band room until 5:00 PM (No DHB after School)

Wednesday: Cookie Dough Fundraiser begins!

Thursday: DHB practice after school until 4:00 PM

Friday: 8th Grade Night. *Required for all 8th grade band members. *

After School Rehearsals:

In order for our concerts to be successful we need extended rehearsal time for both grades. Our 7th graders will rehearse their concert music tomorrow and our 8th graders will rehearsal on Tuesday. I schedule only one rehearsal for the Fall concert in order to ensure that our concerts run smoothly, yet not take up too much time from all of the other activities that the students participate in. Each rehearsal is a grade for all students. Please ensure that your student is at school tomorrow and that they have a ride ready to pick them up at 5 pm.

8th Grade Night Schedule:

• 3:30 report to CJHS band room to meet Ms. Menendez. Walk down to CHS Band room together.
• 4:45pm Report to Band Field for Pre-game rehearsal
• 5:30pm Dinner provided by the boosters
• 6:30pm Uniform Check in Stadium
• 7:00pm Pre-Game
• 7:30pm Kick-Off
• Approx. 9:00pm Half-time
• 10:00 Optional 8th grade Student pick-up time
• Approx. 10:30pm Game Ends for students who wish to stay the entire game.
  • *Students will be able to contact you during 4th quarter to give you a better estimate of what time the game will be ending. Hopefully most of our students will stay for the entire game so that they can participate in our very special Battle Hymn tradition at the end of the game!*

I have added a field trip on November the 12th. Information to come home soon as it is just now getting approved by my principal and those above him. Be on the lookout!
