Legacy of Champions Band Competition Volunteers

Good afternoon,

Each year our high school program hosts a band competition on campus. It is one of the more organized and professionally run marching competitions in our state! We rely heavily each year on parent and Junior High student volunteers. If your student would to volunteer next Saturday, the 9th we could use their help! We have shifts from 1-4, 4-7, and 6-9 PM. This includes things like serving food in the concession stands, serving waters to our guest bands, helping move equipment, and more. We also need a LOT of parent help with tasks that students cannot do. If your student would like service hours they may use this competition for that.

We also need a LOT of parent help with tasks that students cannot do. Adults can help to sell products, handle food items, and drive equipment around.

If you or your student are interested in volunteering next Saturday please contact me at maria.menendez@carrolltoncityschools.net

Sincerely,

M. Menendez

Trojan Band Game Cancelled

Good morning,

Although our Trojans will fight on and play today, our band will not. The chance of rain during the time that we will be out there is very high. The safety of our students and instruments must come first. I will do my best to schedule another game for us. Thank you so much for your patience through all of this and I hope that you have a safe weekend.

Sincerely,

M. Menendez

Trojan Band Game on Saturday 9/18

Good morning,

I am excited for our last game on Saturday! Our report time is going to be 1 PM at the high school band room. The game will begin at 2 PM and we should conclude around 4:00 pm.

Our uniform is our white t shirts but I do recommend a hat and sunglasses if at all possible.

We will need volunteers again to help serve food and help with the moving of instruments and stands. The volunteers this past game were unbelievable. I cannot thank you enough for being so flexible and helpful that day. Please let me know if you are able to help out on Saturday.

We could use donations for desserts and water bottles if any are willing to donate.

District Honor Band: Beginning tomorrow, students who are trying out for District Honor Band are able to stay after school on Tuesday or Thursday until 4:00 to get help with their music. This is not mandatory and students do not need to stay for both days. I would like for them to try to make one of the days though so that I can get them as prepared for that audition as possible.

I look forward to another amazing week with our students!

Sincerely,

M. Menendez
