Second Band

Cadence Carr – 2nd chair oboe

Lili Honeycutt – 1st chair bassoon

I am so proud of all of the students who auditioned! This takes a tremendous amount of work ethic and independence. Students who push themselves beyond the classroom become leaders in our band program and beyond. The full list is posted below of both bands and the alternates.

I look forward to traveling with our DHB members to Bremen High School April 30th-May 1st. Many more details to come.

Sincerely,

Ms. Menendez

Updates for the week

Good evening,

Tomorrow we begin our second semester of school! We will continue our jazz band rehearsals on Wednesdays until 4:15. Please take a moment to read over the Large Group Performance Evaluation schedule below. Also, please make sure that your student has their band polo, black dress pants, black dress shoes, and black socks (if necessary). We are so excited about our first concert of the year coming up in March!

Large Group Performance Evaluation:

We are ecstatic to have been approved to perform a concert this semester. Our first concerts of the season will be our Large Group Performance Evaluation concerts. Our first being a run through at the Mabry Arts Center followed by the final performance at the beautiful Carroll County Performing Arts Center. LGPE is an adjudicated event that our students participate in each year from 7th grade on. Each band will prepare a concert to be performed for a panel of judges and will receive critiques, feedback, and ratings on their performance. LGPE demands the highest level of focus and effort from our band students. All rehearsals and performances are required and are for a grade. Please let me know of any conflicts as soon as possible.

Due to the size of our band room we will rehearse at the high school band room for all rehearsals. I will walk the students over after school. Please pick up your students at the CHS band room at 5 PM after both rehearsals.
