I am excited to cheer on the Trojans again this Saturday, the 24th again! The report time is 1 PM at the CHS band room. The game occurs from 2-4 and we hope that you will come out and cheer alongside our band students!
I am looking forward to another great week with the CJHS Band!
We are excited to begin our World’s Finest Chocolate Fundraiser this week. Each chocolate bar will be sold for $1. Each box has 60 candy bars containing the following flavors: Milk Chocolate with Almonds, Dark Chocolate Bars, W.F. Crisp Bars, Wafer, Milk Chocolate Bars, and Caramel Bars.
Students will bring home one box of chocolate bars at a time. Each student will need to submit $60 before receiving another box to sell. Cash is accepted as well as checks written out to CJHS BAND. No online purchases may be made for this fundraiser.
CAUTION: Warm temperatures will melt the chocolate. Do NOT leave chocolate bars in vehicles or warm spaces. We will NOT accept any damaged or melted chocolate.
The fundraiser ends on Friday, October 7th. Please turn in the $60 at that time for your current box. No unopened boxes will be accepted and students must pay the difference for the chocolate bars that were not sold. As an example: If a student sells 55 chocolate bars, then the student will pay the remaining $5 out of pocket upon submitting their money.
8th graders will earn $30 off of their Carowinds trip per each box sold! Carowinds information will be sent home this week.
PRIZES:
Most Boxes sold – $100 Gift Card
2nd Place – $50 Gift Card
3rd Place – $25 Gift Card
*For every box that is sold, students will gain 1 entry into our $50 gift card raffle. Four names will be drawn for the $50 gift card prizes.
I am excited about our Carowinds trip and to raise funds for our band program to purchase equipment, music, and instruments. Thank you for your participation!

This is the last week to sign up to audition for the West Georgia Winds Middle School Honor Band. Our students had a blast last year and I am hoping for a great turnout this Sunday from our Carrollton students. Please let me know if you have any questions!
This is an audition based ensemble for any 6th-8th grader in the state that rehearses once a week at the CHS band room and performs concerts at the Mabry Arts Center. Students will play challenging and fun music with band members from across our area and will get to play under the baton of Dr. Josh Byrd, director of bands at the University of West Georgia! This is a tremendous opportunity for our band students and I encourage those that are interested to apply at http://www.westgawinds.com
