Rising 8th Graders Meeting

A Message from Mr. Carr,
Thank you to all of the 8th Graders who have already auditioned for HS band.  If for some reason you haven’t auditioned but would like to, please e-mail me at christopher.carr@carrolltoncityschools.net.  We are excited that you will be joining us and look forward to a great year!  We have a meeting in the HS band room for you and your parents on Thursday evening at 6:00pm.  In the meeting we will be discussing the handbook, which can be found at www.chstrojanband.com, and introducing our booster officers who are here to help answer any questions during the transition.

To make sure that we have an accurate count for drill and to provide a deposit to get drill written there is a $75 commitment fee due on Friday, May 19.  This may be paid at the meeting on Thursdayevening, if that is more convenient.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting on Thursday evening!

Mr. Carr

Thanks so much!

A Heartfelt Thankyou

Hello all,

It is very hard to put into words at a concert on stage of how proud I am of all my students and the wonderful program we create together.  I am so thankful to my admin team, band faculty, and most importantly all of my awesome band parents. Because of your work at home with your children they are growing up to such fine ladies and gentlemen.

Thank you all again.

Here is some information regarding summer stuff.

SUMMER CAMPS

Here are some independent opportunities if your child likes to attend summer band camps. It is my recommendation that your child attend a summer music camp, every single student I have ever had that has gone to one of these camps has come back a better musician, and had so much fun along the way.

Concert Help!!!

Hello all,

Tomorrow evening is our Spring Concert from 7-8:15pm. We will be showcasing the awesome talent once again in 7th and 8th grade.

IF YOU CAN COME HELP SETUP FROM 4-4:30 AT THE MAC AFTERSCHOOL THAT WOULD HE A HUGE HELP.

7th grade students as well as jazz band students will need to arrive early at 6:30pm in full uniform, shirts tucked in.

8th grade band members can arrive at 6:45pm in full uniform. Put their instruments together and sit and enjoy 7th Grade and jazz band before performing.

Please collect your child’s cell phone prior to the concert so they will not be distracted.

Important item. Mr. Carr originally had a new member parent meeting at the HS band room for all rising 8th graders. He will reschedule that meeting due to our concert being switched from May 4th to May 9th.

Thanks all

Looking to seeing everyone tomorrow night.

What a Great Trip

The students have done a fantastic job on the trip and we are on our way home. I couldn’t be more proud of their maturity and respectfulness. They represented our school and band program with class on every phase of the trip.

They had a fantastic performance today at the Carowinds music festival and received a Superior rating. I couldn’t be more proud. Our usual group picture had to be scrapped due to rain at the end of the night so here is our goofy selfie right before our performance.

Carowinds Final Info
