Hello everyone
I am still looking for a large setup crew that can help around 4pm at the MAC Thursday. Many hands make light work. If you can give of your time I would sure appreciate it.
Thanks all, see you Thursday.
Today we rolled out our coat sale in class. Each student received a coat order form with three different styles. Each coat comes with our exclusive Trojan band logo embroidered on the left side. For $5 extra you can have your child’s name, and instrument added. We will sell these coats until November 11th, and then turn in the orders to Ozier Apparel.
Important items to remember:
We have several sizes in the band room if you would like to try them on your child before writing your size. These also make great gifts for your child if you would like to order them secretly and turn them in directly to me without them knowing, just turn the order form and money in to the front office and they will put it in my mailbox. I will link the order form in the “Forms” section of the website if you would like to print one.
Thanks all.
I have to say I am very impressed with both the 7th and 8th grade bands this week. With only one after school to put our concert music together they both worked extremely hard.
We also saw almost perfect attendance for both bands after school. Thank you for your commitment to our band program.
Thursday, November 3rd is our Fall Concert. It will start at 7pm and last around 45 minutes. Please plan on staying the entire time for both bands. 7th graders will need to arrive and be seated on stage at 6:30pm for warmup. 8th graders may arrive at 6:45pm and report to the seating area in the audience with their instrument out and ready to go.
I have emailed the concert parent committee but I could use a lot more help setting up after school. If you can meet us next Thursday at 3:15 to help load at CJHS and then setup at 4pm at the MAC please email me. We will need around 15 people to make it go really quick. Please consider helping.
Thanks all. I look forward to seeing you all next Thursday.
Mr. Huls
This week each grade level will be having an after school rehearsal to put together our concert music for our fall concert next week. It is imperative that each band member be at rehearsal. Here are all the details:
Tuesday Oct. 25th: 7th grade band after school rehearsal. 3:30 – 4:30
Thursday Oct. 27th: 8th grade band after school rehearsal. 3:30 – 4:30
Thursday Nov 3rd: Fall Concert at the Mabry Arts Center. 7 – 8pm
Our concerts this year will only include the 7th and 8th grade bands. This should help with parking and seating to make it the most comfortable experience for everyone.
I cannot wait to show off these talented students and how much progress they have made.
8th grade was a great success, I hope every student had an awesome time playing and performing Friday night. Thank you to my awesome 8th graders and your amazing, supportive parents. To look up at that wall of band students in the stands was special, the future of the CHS Trojan band is bright.
As you know we have our 8th grade band night at the high school, where our awesome 8th grade band has an opportunity to experience a Friday night with the award winning CHS Trojan Band.
If you would like to come and help tonight to watch your child and help out with supervision and any other chaperone duties please email me, and then meet us at the practice field at around 6:30pm and we will all walk to the stadium together for the game. Try and wear a black hoodie, coat or t-shirt so we all kind of match.
Duties mainly include:
Thanks all, its going to be a chilly one tonight so make sure you supply your child with a coat or hoodie.
We have two big activities happening this week. Here is all the exciting information:
STUDENTS WILL NEED TO DRESS OUT THAT DAY AT SCHOOL, WE WILL BE HOLDING A PEP RALLY AT THE END OF OUR EARLY RELEASE DAY.
AFTER SCHOOL: Students will not be able to stay at school as I have conferences and their will be no one to supervise students.
Report Time: 5pm to the HS Band Room
We will play the entire first half and what is left at the very end.
Pickup Time: 7:30pm
Students may stay after school and walk over at 4:30pm as a group.
Itinerary:
5pm – Eat dinner at the high school. Hand out shirts. The rest of our uniform will be jeans, and shoes (no sandals please!!!) Also bring a hoodie or light jacket, it is supposed to be chilly.
6pm – Warm-up and learn pre-game with the HS band
7pm – Perform pre-game with the Trojan Band
7 – 10pm – Play the entire game in the stands with the HS band.
10:30pm – Pickup at the HS band room.
This is always one of the most anticipated performances of the year for the kids. Please make sure to come out and support them, if you would like to join the HS parent crew that night please see our booster reps at the HS band room before the game. The best part about band at the HS is the community that is made with all of our awesome families. I look forward to seeing you all Friday night.
A big thank you needs to go out to the volunteers that helped out this morning. They did a great job sorting a big order. Thank you all for picking up your orders today.
There were two flavors that did not come in. White chocolate oatmeal cranberry and classic sensations. These should be in next week, they were backordered. As soon as we have them, we will deliver them to you.
Thanks again.
Hello all. Here is some info for you as you plan the rest of the week.
COOKIE DOUGH
I still need a few parents to volunteer as I only have 2 at the moment. The actual delivery time should be around 11am so not as early as I originally thought. If you can help please email me.
Students will need to take them home after school. Remember large orders will require pickup from school.
TROJAN BAND
We also have a Trojan band game after school at 5:30pm. I have asked that all students go home and come back at 5pm to the HS band room.
If your child cannot get home and back that is fine but it would really help us to pack up cookie dough and prepare for the game without the extra burden of watching so many kids.
Pickup should be around 7pm from the HS band room.
Committee members let’s meet at 5:00pm at the HS Band Room.
Thanks all
