OK, we have some changes to today’s schedule.  The game is at 4pm in Grisham Stadium at the HS.

Afterschool – We will walk over to the HS.

4:00 – 5:00 – Play pre-game and the first half of the game.

5:00pm’ish – Eat pizza at half time.

5:30pm – Pickup time at the HS band room.

Students are allowed to wear jeans and hoodies or coats as well.

Just thought I would send out a friendly reminder that we will perform tomorrow at the 8th grade football game. I believe at this point that the game is at CJHS. So here will be the schedule:

4:45- report time in uniform

5:15- head to the field 

5:30- game starts

6:15- eat pizza  ( I will need parent help as always)

7- pickup at CJHS. 

If things get switched to Grisham stadium I will send out another email.

The 8th Grade football game has been rescheduled for Monday of next week.  We will have Trojan Band then.

WE STILL HAVE 8TH GRADE AFTER SCHOOL BAND REHEARSAL MANDATORY FOR ALL 8TH GRADE BAND MEMBERS FROM 3 – 4PM AFTER SCHOOL TODAY.  FOOTBALL PLAYERS HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO REHEARSE WITH US THIS AFTERNOON AS WELL PER COACH NEW.

Hello all,

Thank you to my 7th grade students and parents for an awesome rehearsal after school yesterday. We had excellent attendance and the band is going to sound awesome at the concert on October 26th. 

Now it’s the 8th grade bands turn to have an awesome rehearsal.  Football players, I have spoken with Coach New and he has given me the green light to have you attend this rehearsal until 4pm tomorrow. I also know of a few cross country runners that will be with me until they leave for practice so this should be a well attended rehearsal. 

For those that are in Trojan band we will walk to the CHS band room to perform at the football game after rehearsal. We should be done around 7pm.

As we get closer and closer to our October 26th concert we need to hold an after school rehearsal to put the bands together. Please make sure your child attends these rehearsals. 

Tuesday Oct 13th – 7th grade will rehearse from 3-4:30 at the JH band room. 

Thursday Oct 15th – 8th grade will rehearse from 3-4:30 at the JH band room. Following this rehearsal we will walk to the HS band room for the Trojan band playoff game. 

Please make sure your child participates in all after school rehearsals this week it is vital to our success for our concert on October 26th.

Thank you to my awesome volunteer mom’s who came to help sort, you did such a fantastic job getting everything put together and organized.  A huge thank you to everyone who sold cookie dough to help support the band or to help fund your Carowinds Trip.  I will be releasing all the forms and info very soon for the 8th grade spring trip to Carowinds so look for an information sheet and health form very soon.

Just a friendly reminder that cookie dough orders will be here tomorrow. Please make sure if you have a large order (6 or more boxes) you will need to come pick it up, it will be too large to take on the bus.

Remember the dough needs to stay frozen so distribute it as soon as possible or get it into the freezer as soon as you get home. 

If you can come help sort orders in the morning please stop by. I will have doughnuts and coffee for you.

Hello All,

Today I sent home playing test reports and progress reports with all 8th grade students.  On the report are some details about your child’s performance on their chair test and some insight into how they have been performing in class so far this year.  This is designed to be honest feedback on what they are doing, how they are doing it, and what they can do to improve.  The playing test reports should be signed and returned to me ASAP for a grade in class.

I did this process with the 7th grade grade band members a few weeks ago, so 7th grade parents you should have seen them already.  If not please let me know and Ill get you a new one.

Only a couple more weeks in this grading period so if you need to improve a grade the time is now.  The band room is open everyday after school and every morning at 7:15am for anyone that wants to pass off grades, or turn in late work.

Due to the 90% chance of rain and thunderstorms, I am going to have to call off the performance today at the 8th grade football game.  I will let the kids know in class today so that everyone has plenty of time to make travel arrangements home.

Thank you to everyone who sold cookie dough to help support the band or earn money toward their spring trip. 

The Junior High delivery date is Wednesday Oct 7th. I will need around 8-10 volunteers to come to the junior high at around 10 AM to help sort. If you can help please email me. 

Students will come home with their dough from school that day and it will need to be delivered immediately or stored in a freezer until it can be delivered. If you have a large order (more than 6 boxes) please plan on picking it up after school.
